Eminem Defends Kid Rock Collaboration, Says Friendship Comes Before Politics

Eminem is standing by his decision to collaborate with Kid Rock, emphasizing their longtime friendship despite their political differences.

The rapper addressed the reaction on social media following the October 17 release of Kid Rock’s faith-based album, Halfway 2 Jesus. Eminem appears on the track Heal My Faith, which reflects on their shared history and personal connection.

The collaboration drew criticism from some fans because the two Detroit musicians hold opposing political views. Eminem has publicly criticized Donald Trump and supported Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election, while Kid Rock remains a prominent Trump supporter.

Eminem explained that recording together was about their friendship rather than political allegiance. He also shared a message encouraging prayer and understanding.

The artists have known each other for decades, with Eminem previously appearing on Kid Rock’s 1998 album Devil Without a Cause.

Kid Rock has also acknowledged their political differences, explaining that their friendship has continued despite disagreements.
