Kendrick Lamar Faces Backlash Over Kodak Black Feature

By Music News May 15, 2022 | 8:00 PM

Kendrick Lamar is facing backlash for having Kodak Black on his new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Fans have been calling out Lamar for featuring Kodak on “Silent Hill,” despite Kodak being accused of raping a teenage girl in a hotel and biting her during the alleged incident.

Journalist Ernest Owens tweeted, “I think that we've entered this annoying trend of 'conscious' rappers/artists thinking they are doing something enlightening and/or edgy by attempting to redeem and/or reimagine problematic/toxic individuals in society. Kendrick Lamar sadly chose Kodak Black on purpose.”

He added, “The betrayal stings because these artists think they are giving these trash ass individuals 'grace' in a way that society isn't — but they are actually perpetuating a violent cycle of divorcing them of true accountability. Why must Black women and others be denied justice?”

EMINEM LEFT 'SPEECHLESS' BY KENDRICK LAMAR'S NEW ALBUM

Eminem took to Twitter to praise Kendrick's new album. He tweeted, “Yo @DrDre this Kendrick album is f****** ridiculous. I'm speechless.”

Denzel Curry also commented on the album, saying, “I just finished this new Kendrick Video. Bruh…” I gotta step my game up n****s is built different.”
