This past weekend, entertainment marketing consultant Karen Civil was put on blast on Clubhouse following Jessie Woo's lawsuit and Joyner Lucas' allegations against her. According to Madamenoire, commedienne and on air personality Jessie Woo revealed last week that she filed suit against Civil, accuing her of attempting to book her for a fake event by using a “non-existent company” name earlier this year.
Woo accused Civil of using the fake company as a way to “obtain personal information” to use against her in an “extortion case for the sum of 3 Million Dollars.” Woo also alleged that the fictitious appearance was created by Civil to “embarrass & intimidate her,” adding that the Superior Court of California sided with her motion to toss Civil’s case.
JOYNER LUCAS SPEAKS UP
After Woo spoke out about her suit against Civil, rapper Joyner Lucas revealed that he was scammed by Civil back in 2014 when he was a struggling rapper trying to make it. He claimed that he paid Civil $60,000 for her services but never received anything.
He explained, “I was desperate for help and you knew that. After you was paid you went ghost and didn’t expect me to pop. Here I am.” He continued, “After you got the money paid up front, you stopped answering my calls & every time I hit you, you answered the phone with a attitude like I was messing up your day. Smh I was broke and down on my last leg bruh. That 60k was literally my last effort to help me get on and you stole that from me when my son was born.”
Joyner said he was afaid to speak up because he didn't want to be blackballed.
KAREN RELEASES A STATEMENT
Civil released a statement to Baller Alert denying the claims, saying that subcontractors, including publicists and marketing agencies were all hired from the money that Joyner gave her. She explained, “It’s easy for him to make broad statements when you aren’t familiar with the backend of business especially Marketing. Nothing was stolen or taken from Joyner Lucas. All work done on his behalf were fulfilled. Subcontractor invoices were made & sent to MGMT Sean MacDonald of Dead Silence CEO. Which my team also kept records for.”
Karen also hopped on Clubhouse to defend herself, telling Joyner that the process for public relations is a long and arduous one, and that is why Lucas didn't see results come back right away. In the end, Joyner rejected this notion and claimed that he was scammed.
Hollywood Unlocked's Jason Lee was also in the Clubhouse room and accused Civil of hiring a hacker to take down his site and Civil admitted that she did pay a hacker to take it down after Jason posted something she didn't like and she apologized for it.
MEEK MILL SPEAKS UP
Meanwhile, Meek Mill also had a few words for Civil, tweeting this past weekend, “Karen was my friend and turned on me for opportunity …. start having the blogs posting negative about me on some conspiracy sh*t.
He continued, “I forgive her but I definitely don’t wanna deal with y’all industry people that move like that! You should admit what you did to me too.”
NIPSEY HUSSLE FIRED KAREN CIVIL BEFORE HIS DEATH?
It was also revealed on social media that Nipsey Hussle actually fired Civil before his death. Kita Trotter, CEO of Hitland Group Management, who confronted Civil in Clubhouse, wrote via social media, “Karen Civil, get TF off Clubhouse lying. Nipsey fired yo dumb ass long before he passed! You sitting on this app lying, saying you got him every deal you had? N***a you came around after the work was already put in. You didn’t come up with Proud 2 Pay. You was a b#### doing interviews.
