Angela “AP The Midday Diva” Peterson is the hottest Midday personality in Columbus GA. She brings years of experience in broadcasting and media.
Although Peterson hails from Seale, Alabama, she began her radio career in Los Angeles California. Her work has taken her to Oklahoma, Chicago, and cities abroad. Peterson went on to graduate at the top of her class at Columbus State University and received a B.S. in Communications/English. Then she received a Masters degree in Psychology and Business Management. The Diva is constantly attending classes and workshops to enhance her radio knowledge and plans to continue her quest for her Doctorate degree later this year.
Peterson started her radio career at KKBT radio in Los Angeles. Starting her career in the second largest radio market was a wonderful experience. After finishing college she continued to work at the station. But, after the death of her program director and mentor, Greg Beasley,
Peterson returned to her southern roots. She accepted a part-time position in Columbus Georgia at WFXE/WOKS. After moving through the ranks at WFXE she became the “Original Mid-day Diva”. Angela then moved to WTVM and tried her hand at television broadcasting and voiceover work. In 2004 when WBFA changed formats to urban/hip hop, the program director asked Peterson to be a part of his team. She quickly moved to mid-days.
When the Beat was acquired by RCG Media in 2018, the Diva was promoted to the Program Director. Peterson created the “Diva Shoe Closet” in 2009. The blog showcases her love for designer shoes and purses and has a huge following. She is known not only as the “Mid-day Diva” but also for her “keeping it real” attitude. The Midday is an “experience”. Anyone can play the same music, the audience connects with your personality. “You can’t trick listeners, they’re smart”. She knows that in today’s radio market you must compete in social media and internet sources.
Angela Peterson is the proud mother of 7 children. Three have graduated from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama. Her 4 th child, graduated from UAB, majoring in NeuroScience. She volunteers over 300 hours per year at various schools in her hometown.
